NAMS-Internet Marketing Workshop Part 2

Niche Affiliate Marketing System Workshop-Atlanta, Georgia                   Friday Morning 8:30 AM

The room was filled with internet marketers and internet marketer wannabes like me.  After a fantastic motivational lecture by Kathleen Gage, we broke up into our smaller groups of beginners, intermediates, and advanced classes.  There was much teaching, alot of hands on learning and alot of information flowing.

Before you knew it, it was lunch time.  A time to network with peers and talk more with instructors.  You see, the cool thing about NAMS is all the instructors agree to be available to talk and have their brains picked all weekend.

After a full afternoon of  ”classes”, I met for another evenning of networking with other students and speakers.

The next 2 days were just like the first, filled with much learning and networking.  I learned how to write a 300 word article in just 30 minutes, from Jeff Herring.  I learned how to go from start to profit from Lynn Terry, and how to generate traffic from Willie Crawford.

I left Atlanta, very tired, but very exhilarated.  I had focus, and I had a crystal clear clarity as to where I needed to place that focus first.  In the three months since my trip to Atlanta and my encounter with NAMS2, I have started a blog about something I feel very strongly about, I have made my very first online sale, ever, and I am almost finished with my very first ebook.

I attribute those three things to the incredible training I recieved at NAMS2

NAMS3 will be held in January 2010, a little more than 60 days from now.

The cost right now is $397.  On December 1st, the price will go up to $497.  But if you register by November 20th, you can use the coupon code below and save $100. off the current price.  Brining the cost of a ticket to (in my opinion), the best affiliate marketing workshop/training ever down to just $297.

The coupon code is:  100NAMS3

I hope to see you there.

Learn to Build Your List the Right Way.

By the time you  read this, I will be on a flight from Pittsburgh, to Kansas City to pick up my 5 year old granddaughter and we will be flying back to Pittsburgh together.  She is coming to stay with “Granny and Grandad” for the next 3 weeks.  As you can probably guess I am extremely excited.

I loved being a mom, but nothing compares with being a grandmother.  That is the one thing I love about my Internet Marketing business.  I can pick up and leave to fly to Kansas and not have to ask my boss if it’s okay to take the day off.

Today we’re going to talk about list building.  I don’t know about you, but this is one of the area’s of my business that I struggled with.  So I have a surprise for you.  I have one of  THE guys who practically invented online list building.    Jimmy D. Brown .  Jimmy has agreed to let me post an excerpt of his  List Profit System to share with you all, while I’m busy flapping my wings.  ;)

In this course Jimmy teaches the difference between having a list and having a profitable list.  This is a fantastic course for beginners, and in my opinion should be recommended reading for anyone starting an online business.

Ater you read this excerpt, make sure you go grab Jimmy’s FREE report “Six Steps To Six Figures With List Marketing” at this site .

But first here’s a few pages of the actual paid course:

PART 3: Seven Opt-in Triggers That Get Subscribers Like Crazy

You can have all the right “ingredients” to an opt-in page (the things we just talked about in the previous section) and still not get great results. It’s how you put everything together that counts.

So, that’s what I want to share with you now.

You’re about to get the benefit of results from more than five years of tweaking and testing (and tweaking and testing some more!) the opt-in process. I don’t know if there’s anyone who’s been doing THIS longer than I have. I was using a mini-site to get subscribers since back in 1999 – back when list-building pretty much meant having a link on your site that said, “To join my list, click here.”

While there are a gazillion variations and distinctions, there are some basic “triggers” that I’ve found really do dramatically improve your opt-in rate.

There are seven of them…

Note: The first three are very basic, but I’ll be revealing some ideas that you’ve probably not considered before…so read them anyway. :-) The final four are more “advanced” in nature. You’ll find that only those “in the know” are using them. Add your name to the list.

1. Offer Real Perceived Value. Years ago I went to the late Corey Rudl’s web site and he was giving away a free subscription (like everyone else) to his newsletter. What made his different than the rest? It had a simple notice near the subscription form reading, “$197.00 value”.

Instant perceived value at the time. (That’s not the case now with everyone putting inflated “values” on their free offers).

The point is this…you can CREATE perceived value. Here’s how.

- UNIQUENESS. One way to do this is through your own “unique” approach to your free offer. You can say the same thing as someone else in a totally different way and see a marked difference in responses.

For example: “$600 cash back” is NOT the same as “A year’s worth of free gas” to someone about to buy a car. (Especially today with gas prices rocketing skyward in leaps and bounds!) “A year’s worth of free gas” has a much higher “perceived” value even though its monetary value is the same.

What makes your list unique?

How to Become an Affiliate Extraordinaire

About 4 months ago I came across a membership site that promised to teach me how to make money selling other peoples stuff in only 3 hours a day.

Now if you read my earlier posts you know that I am an aspiring WAHG (work at home granny)  :)   And you also know that my experience when I started online left a lot to be desired.  So when I read that, my first thought was “No way, not me”.   The membership site is called Affiliatenaire and it’s  a membership site by Jimmy D. Brown.

Now because I’m a fan of Jimmy’s, I thought I would try it and see if he could make even me, (as techno challenged as I am), a successful affiliate marketer in just 3 hours a week.

Well let me tell you that after 4 months, I am very happy to say that I think this is the best move I have ever made in my quest for internet marketing success.  Jimmy sends you one lesson every week in a short, easy to figure out format.  Each lesson includes an assignment that you need to complete.

This drip feed approach gives you time to digest one lesson/assignment before the next one arrives.  This method practically forces you to succeed.  I look back on the past 4 months and I actually see the progress I have made.

Not only do you get your easy to implement lessons, but if there is something in the lesson that might be a little hard to understand, Jimmy sends an “On Demand Resource”.  It is because of these on demand resources that I have been able to make the progress that I have made.

Let me just say that if you are looking for promises of getting rich quick, look somewhere else.  However, if you are willing to do the work and do the time required to invest in your future, then I think you will be pleasantly surprised by your success at the end of the 52 weeks.

Now you might ask , “OK this sounds great, but what’s the catch?  There’s got to be a downside”.   And the truth of the matter is, this is a membership site, and the membership costs $27.00 a month for 12 months, but with everything you will learn and all the extras  Jimmy throws in,  I think you’ll be hard pressed to find a better value for your money.  Also, this is a site for Newbies.  Absolute beginners who want to learn from the beginning in an easy format.

Try it and see if everything I say isn’t true.  You have a 60 day, 100% money back guarantee.   Go check it out here and look for Jimmy D. Browns 60 day money back guarantee at the end.  I think you’re going to love Affiliatenaire as much as I do.

Setting Yourself Up for Success

I have been trying to start an online business for about 5 years.  I started out with a MLM company.  This was my first attempt at making money online.  It was a very well known company and the products were good, but a bit pricey.  After 2 years of making calls, buying leads and not even breaking even, I quit that company.

I tried various other online money making “schemes” over the next couple of years, but most just left me with a bad taste in my mouth.   I bought alot of the “Guru’s” products.  You know the ones, just buy their product, do what they tell you and you’ll be rich overnight.

The problem was I was a 48 year old grandmother who didn’t have a clue what HTML was or how to build a list, what an opt-in page was let alone put one on my page.  All the things they took for granted that you knew how to do, if you wanted to start an online business.

I always felt like I was missing something.  That they were leaving something out.  Or I was just too obtuse to understand.  I actually started to think that I may as well give up, because I was never going to get the hang of this internet marketing thing, no matter how hard I tried.  Not without spending a fortune (that I did not have) on more of the next best thing.

Then I found Jimmy D. Brown.  He was like a breath of fresh air, a life line to a woman drowning in a sea of internet marketing bilge water.

The first product I bought from him was Homepreneur Habits.  From that 65 page report I learned the principles of a successful Homepreneur, the tools I would need to implement to become a successful entrepreneur that would get me out of my day JOB and not become another one of those people that is just another statistic of a wanna be internet marketer.

Homepreneur Habits laid the ground work for healthy home office strategies, but I needed more.  Now Jimmy D. Brown is known for over delivering what he promises.  I signed up for his newsletter, and I found myself receiving a plethora of free reports, articles, and newsletters.  All with information to help me make money online.

Go check out Homepreneur Habits here.  I promise you won’t be sorry.

4 Mistakes Common for New Affiliate Marketers

If you are new to affiliate marketing, I’m sure you’ve heard of the great “overnight” riches to be made that are fabled in story and song.  And while those stories can be true, the time frame of that wealth is not.

There is great wealth to be made on the internet and affiliate marketing is absolutely one of the best ways.  However, the people that have been successful at it know that it is work.  There are no free rides.  If you need to make or believe that you will make alot of money over night, go clean out your garage and sell the stuff on ebay.

Now that we have the myths out of the way, and you’re still here, you must be interested in the 4 mistakes that I mentioned in the title.  Like any business,  there are some things that you should and should not do.  Sometimes new affiliate marketers just don’t know what they don’t know.  In other words they don’t know what information and products are available to them to help them make their businesses run more efficiently and smoothly.  This is mistake number 1.

You need to familarize yourself with what is available to you.  That means visit the blogs and websites of other successful marketers.  If they have written about something that you aren’t familar with , ask a question in the comments section.  Many are willing to help newbies “learn the ropes”.

Become familar with search engine optimization (better known as SEO).  Not knowing how to make your blog or website SEO friendly is common mistake number 2.  If no one can find your website , then how can you make any sales?  Making your website friendly to the Search Engines will help you rank higher on their pages.  Ranking higher on their pages could be the difference between 1 or 2 sales and 100 sales.

The third common mistake, in my opinion, that new internet marketers make is filling their sites with banners for products, but then they don’t provide content to tell their perspective customers any information about the products in the banners.

If you are going to be an affiliate for a product, make sure you have read the product, if it is an ebook or ecourse, or tried the product if it is something tangible.  That way you can tell your readers about it intelligently.  Internet marketing is about trust.  You need to build that trust with people through truthful articles and product comparisons.  If they don’t feel that you are trustworthy they won’t open their wallet to buy from you.

Finally, the fourth and final common mistake that we are going to talk about today is a double edged sword.  New marketers either give their customers too many choices or not enough.  Let me explain.

If your perspective customer arrives at your website and you have 15 to 30 different brands of the same type of item without  offering one or two that is the best brand, (in your opinion), then they may think that they don’t have enough information to make a choice right then and there only to leave your site, maybe never to return.

However, if you have only 1 item, and you don’t make an excellent case for why that one product is the best on the market, they may again think, “What other brand is out there that may be better”, and again click away never to return.

To be able to avoid  these and other common mistakes, you need to remember that successful people, marketers included, never stop learning.  Knowledge is your key to making intelligent decisions and consequentially success.
